Password generation happens entirely on the device. The app has no account, advertising, analytics, or cloud synchronization. Generated and saved passwords are not sent to the developer or external servers.

How it works

Password generation

Passwords are created with a cryptographically secure random source. When the selected length allows it, the result contains at least one character from every enabled character set. The characters are shuffled after generation.

Character set options

Users can select uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters. At least one primary character set must remain enabled.

Similar character exclusion

The similar-character option removes O, 0, I, l, and 1 from the available character sets, reducing mistakes when reading or typing a password manually.

Saved records

A password can be saved with a title, login, website address, and note. Records remain local and are available in a dedicated section of the app. Search and favorite entries are supported.

Biometric protection

Before opening saved entries, VS GenPass asks the device biometric system to confirm the user's identity. Authentication is performed by Android or iOS. The app does not receive or store fingerprints, face images, or biometric templates.

Copy and share

A generated password can be copied to the system clipboard or shared using the standard Android or iOS share sheet. Information is transferred only after an explicit user action.

Localization

The interface supports 22 languages: Russian, English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Turkish, Indonesian, Hindi, Vietnamese, Italian, Polish, Thai, Dutch, Malay, Filipino, Czech, and Ukrainian.

Data storage and management

Generated passwords are not saved automatically. A record is added only after the user explicitly chooses to save it.

Saved records remain in the device's system-protected secure storage. There is no cloud synchronization or developer-operated server storage. Android backup and device transfer are disabled for app data.

Users can edit and delete saved records inside the application. The developer has no remote copy of this information and therefore cannot restore a deleted record through support.
